The truth inside new Charlie Hebdo: Terrorism is a job for lazy people

charlie-473x315In all the fuss about Charlie Hebdo’s cover, consider one of the sad, funny, unregarded truths that’s inside the magazine. As Griff Witte reports in The Washington Post, it depicts a harried and exhausted cartoonist hunched over his desk, with the caption, “Cartooning at Charlie Hebdo, it’s 25 years of work.”

The next cartoon panel shows hooded gunmen mowing people down with a Kalashnikov, accompanied by the words, “For a terrorist, it’s 25 seconds of work.”

The concluding thought: “Terrorism: A job for lazy people.”

That’s the truest thing that was ever said. You don’t argue, write, campaign, legislate for change. You pick up a gun and have at it.

That’s criminal laziness.
