COP26 hasn’t even begun and some media organisations are on to the “next climate summit”.

Axios has written off  COP26 in “rainy Scotland” and is already looking ahead to another gathering, later in November, “in hot and humid Singapore”.

Sponsored by former New York mayor Mike Bloomberg, the after-COP COP will have business titans three deep. Axios reports that the lineup for the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, which runs Nov. 16-19  includes Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Goldman Sachs chairman and CEO David Solomon.

Tantalisingly, it adds that “a senior Chinese leader is also expected”. Who might that be? Not Xi Jingping, surely, who’s giving COP26 a miss.
